Accessibility
Accessibility statement.
We build accessibility into the site itself rather than bolting on an overlay widget. Here is what that means and how to tell us when we have got something wrong.
Our commitment
Ponte Vedra Spine and Pain Center is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or captions. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
We deliberately do not use an accessibility overlay widget. Overlays sit on top of a page and cannot repair the underlying markup, so they do not deliver real conformance — and they can interfere with the assistive technology a visitor has already configured. We would rather fix the site.
What we have done
How this site is built
- Semantic HTML landmarks and a skip link, so screen-reader users can move straight to the content.
- Every interactive element reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Text and interface colours tested to meet WCAG AA contrast against our white background.
- Descriptive alternative text on photographs of the practice and the physician.
- The video on the home page never plays sound without a deliberate click, can be paused, and carries on-screen captions.
- Motion is reduced automatically for visitors whose device requests it, including the home-page film.
- Text can be resized to 200% without loss of content or function.
